Factory made mortar on the building site

The benefit of factory made mortar on the building site

The use of factory produced mortars has influenced the organisation of building sites with regard to the assembly of masonry elements and plasters.
The use of factory produced mortars provides a cost advantage to the building site compared to site mixing practice.

1 An economy of labour, time and material usage. Factory produced mortars may be delivered in bulk, silos or bags and is a guarantee against inaccurate site practice, thus ensuring a quality product.

2 Easier use in particular with the delivery of mortars by silo (no handling) especially when using spraying equipment for plasters, renders and pumping screeds.

3 Space on building sites is limited, especially in urban areas. Silo systems make it possible to store products vertically on a limited area of ground with protection of the product against the weather. Transfer to different locations on the site, including high levels is provided by specialised pneumatic pumps and mixing systems.

4 Site storage in bags, silos or bulk reduces handling and reduces waste compared to old site mixing practices.

5 Quality controlled factory produced mortars make it possible to apply the product by hand or spray to provide economic use.

6 The composition of modern mortars meets the requirements of the European environmental standards. All materials are naturally occuring except for limited use of admixtures used in small quantities to improve the performance of mortars.

7 In comparison to mortars mixed on the site, factory produced mortars not only give confidence and ease of use but also give product conformity to meet the changing demand of the construction industry.

8 Factory made mortar is on the site when it is needed (the just-in-time principle).

9 Self-levelling floor screed mortar simplifies work compared with the traditional use of semi-dry mortar.
