Policy
European legislation defines the essential requirements that goods must meet when they are placed on the market and the European standardisation bodies have the task of drawing up the corresponding technical specifications. EMO informs its member associations on current developments, changes in legislation and upcoming projects. Our members benefit from implementing European requirements at national level.
Important legislations in the building sector are:
- Construction Product Regulation (CPR) *
- Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) as a key part of the European Commission's Fit-for-55 package
When it comes to health and safety and the communication with downstream users, the most important legislations are:
- Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) *
- Classification labelling and packaging regulation (CLP) *
